Web 2.0

Web 2.0 was originally coined by Tom O'Reilly and is a completely new level of internet websites above Web 1.0, which allows users to interact with the site they are on and other people involved in viewing. This has completely changed the way we think of websites as they are now not just a source of information but also a source of connectivity and give us huge power to alter them to our own desires.

Some examples are:
Wikipedia
Youtube
Facebook

Interactive Design

The area of interactive design highlights and builds the relationship between interactive products or systems and their users. Its aim is to concentrate on people and interactive designs to outline the perplexing processes that happen between the two, at the same time giving the user a satisfying experience.

Some examples are:
Ipods
Laptops
Mobile phones

Information/Instructional design

Informational design is used purely to convey expressionless, factual information, rather than allowing interactivity between users. This is a very effective way of informing users, although it lacks feedback as to how the general public feel about certain aspects of it.

Some examples are:
Google Earth
Whereis
White Pages

eBay

About this blog

This blog has been created to give an insight into how interactivity affects our lives and how it can be applied within design to create experiences for users of our designs. Also, the process of 'blogging' will possibly help achieve rapport with professionals looking for talent within a design student, that is, myself.
